Critical to the success of the SafetyNET-Rx project is the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists.

The Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists is the regulatory body for the practice of pharmacy in Nova Scotia. To fulfill its obligation of public protection, the College: (1) establishes and administers the registration/licensing requirements and processes for pharmacists and community pharmacies; (2) supports the continued competence of pharmacists; (3) develops standards for pharmacy practice; (4) monitors pharmacy environments to ensure they meet appropriate standards; (5) responds to complaints about pharmacists; and (6) maintains a register of Nova Scotia pharmacists and pharmacies.

The College is governed by a Council, comprised of elected pharmacists and appointed public representatives. The goals and policies established by the Council provide direction for the College's Registrar and Staff.
